15/06/11: Martyn Amos, Lindsey Munro and Naomi Jacobs visited Sheffield Hallam 'Engineering For Life' to present our Bridging the Gaps project and make links with theirs. The Sheffield Hallam team will be coming to speak to our group on 20th July.

26/05/11: The 'Monsters, Microbiology and Maths Team' successfully ran a series of focus groups to develop computer simulations of zombie, vampire and werewolf outbreaks and examine their relation to disease transmission models.

14/04/11: Professor Ian Stewart gave a public seminar: "Mathematics of Life" which was well attended. See Issue 6 of the newsletter for more details

12/04/11: Professor Joanna Verran appeared on the BBC programme 'The One Show' talking about cinefilm degradation which is being examined in one of the NanoInfoBio Large Projects.

12/04/11: Dr Martyn Amos and Professor Joanna Verran gave presentations at the Society for General Microbiology, on synthetic biology and biofilms respectively.

08/04/11: Debra Whitehead, Mike Dempsey and Peter Kelly have been awarded an EPSRC CASE Studentship from the NanoKTN, to work in association with United Utilities on Nanopurification of Water. Congratulations to the team.

20/03/11: "Hands on Science" day took place at Manchester Metropolitan University, sponsored by NanoInfoBio and with participation from across the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University.
